Defamation crimes through press and media
Defamation crimes through press and media
Edited by Sabrina Bolognini, Antonio D “Avirro, Michele D” Avirro
Giuffré, 2022.
The work addresses the criminal aspect of communication through the press, radio, television, and internet, with particular attention given to the latter phenomenon, as it has revolutionized communication methods through new technologies such as social networks, mailing lists, forums, chats, and blogs.
In addition to investigations into online defamation, the work revisits and develops the traditional analysis of defamation through press and broadcasting, referring to the most current jurisprudential and doctrinal orientations and recent innovations, such as the declaration of constitutional illegitimacy of Article 13 of the press law and Legislative Decree no. 280/2021 on the presumption of innocence, initiatives prompted by the increasingly central role of the ECHR in this matter.
The text is primarily aimed at legal and information professionals, hoping to provide a contribution and an answer to the issues affecting this subject.
